Male Chest Reduction (Gynaecomastia correction)

Gynecomastia is extremely common and affects 40 – 65% of adult males.

For men who feel self-conscious about extra fat and breast tissue around the chest area, Dr Fiumara offers a procedure designed to flatten and smooth the chest. Male breast reduction (gynaecomastia correction) can give you a firmer, flatter, more contoured chest and increase your self-confidence with a more masculine chest profile.

Several surgical options are available to treat Gynaecomastia:

    • Liposuction (aspiration of fatty tissue)

Liposuction reduces the bulk of breast fullness when high percentage of breast tissue is fat (pseudo-gynaecomastia).  Liposuction also aids in contouring the chest area.

    • Subcutaneous mastectomy (surgical excision of breast tissue typically positioned just under the Nipple – Areola complex)
    • Combination therapy (Liposuction + Surgical excision + Areola Reduction)

Medical Terms

Gynaecomastia: enlargement of male breast due to excess glandular tissue

Pseudogynaecomastia: enlargement of male breast due to fatty tissue.
